Chef Maurizio's Pizzeria & Lounge | Our Story

Our story

Our story

It started with my mother Sina's traditional family recipes. In August 2013 we opened our doors in a 459-square-foot space on Great North Road.

The competitions

The competitions

In 2017 I took first place in Canada, and in 2018 I came home from Romania with the Gold Cup Master Chef title. That year I also coached a colleague to several medals of their own, and the Canadian Culinary Federation inducted me and named me Chef.
Finding Bowes Street

Finding Bowes Street

Sandra Porretta is my wife and business manager, and faith, hard work and community guide us both. We're grateful to every guest, and we're planning another location.
